I can understand how doing restoration for others took the joy out of your hobby. I really enjoy watching your videos. Hopefully you can find a way that makes you happy again.
I’m still really grateful to have a machine that was finished by you. Can you post your eBay store? I hope you still make videos as we all still enjoy watching them! Blessings in 2026.
Have just been watching a lot of your videos, and as a leather worker, totally understand the passion of the activity vs. the work to sell & I also hate self promotion and all of that... A reason I think the first few months of every year I get back to sewing garments & my love of getting my vintage machines running (though not nearly to the extent you do & repaint, though I love that!) is I need the break from "work". I enjoyed the work on Vincent, and fabric & leather for its box. Do enjoy your step back from business side so that you can really enjoy your love again--on your own time/schedule!
Marie, I want to get you to paint my 221 and your friend Jen to rehab it. But I can't reach her! Her website wont allow me to register my password. I've tried emailing her and get no response. Can you reach out to me at my email, and I can give you my address and phone and stuff I do not want to publish here on a blog? kitskid1950@gmail.com. I think you and Jen are the best, but I'm getting so frustrated trying to reach her. Then you could forward it to her.
So glad to find you! I just had rotator cuff surgery done a week ago and am recovering with YouTube videos. I got really good at collecting sewing machines but now I have a rack full of machines that I need to work on. My favorite treadle machine is a singer 115 but the shellac has crazed on it really bad the Tiffany decals are still pretty good shape. I do have a question. Is there some point where the raising is so bad it’s beyond refurbishing? I apologize for all the lowercase letters. I’m having to talk to type
